First C++ game is done!

Well, it’s been done for about a month, but we had entered it in a contest. We couldn’t post it publicly until the contest was over.

Small C++ Demo

I was reading the posts I had, and realized that in November I said there would be a demo soon. A little late now…

Anyways, I did eventually get the collisions done, and added some coins. Yesterday I also made some trampolines! So the features so far are:

Platformer movement
Coins
Trampolines
Screenshots

There would be more done, but I have had a few lazy days since that post. The file is a ZIP, because it has a few DLLs and the images in there too. You can download it here.

Also, I didn’t make the sprites. Someone called Black_Moon from Wikicomplete.info made them (except the smaller block (comes with Game Maker 7), player (I made it) and the trampoline (bevels/embosses in Photoshop)).

WordPress Plugin Available!

I was working on a WordPress plugin the other day, and I finally finished it. It is pretty basic though, there is an option page you go to and enter 10 words to replace with 10 other words. This works in pages and posts.

Go under WordPress, and then WordPress Plugins, the you should see it (or just click here).

PS: Learning C++ is going well, I have already started on a (big) project. This is gonna take a while, so I decided to upload this.

Tower Defense Demo

I know I don’t post very often, mainly because I forget about this. Since programming is just a hobby, I tend to start working on an idea as soon as I get it. This leads to the other ones not getting done. One of the more recent things I have made was some tower defense stuff. As usual, it doesn’t have a very creative title; “Tower Defense Revolution”. People familiar with tower defense games will know pretty much how to play. Although you might want to read the end section to see a few differences (or future differences, once (and if) it ever gets done.)

Basically for tower defense games you buy towers and place them to destroy enemies. When they are destroyed, you get some more money. You can either buy more towers or upgrade the towers you have. This is a very basic version of tower defense.

Some differences right now include:

The game can be easy often.
You can save/load your files, and even bring them to other computers.
There is only one basic type to buy, and the different costs have different stats.
It is currently outer spaced themed.
I actually made images that are decent(ish)!

One future difference will be that there are multiple themes to pick from, so people who don’t like one can pick another.

First Game – Creator

Creator isn’t really a ‘game’, but something that allows you to create game rooms. V1 lets has lava, blocks, springs, coins, and more. Also, you can set the character speed, character jump height, enemy speed, etc. You can save levels and load them, along with much more!

This is the new website because the old one got messed up. You may request a game by clicking here. Also send suggestions and questions there. The first game will be coming out shortly, it is being made right now. You can make levels, save, and load levels in the first version, although the editor is always seen. Trying to find out how to do more with it…
